Serpent

Wandering distraught through the forest, Damayanti is seized by a hungry boa constrictor that begins to devour her. A hunter hears her cries, rushes to her aid, and severs the serpent's head — freeing her from one danger only to deliver her into another.

Deep in a mountain cavern, Bhima encounters a serpent with the terrible form of death itself. The creature, driven by hunger, seizes him — and Bhima, the strongest of the Pandavas, finds his soul pained through depression and delusion as the serpent's coils tighten around him. It is Yudhishthira who must free him.

Bhima discovers a gigantic serpent in a mountain cavern — a creature whose coils pile as high as a mountain, whose mouth is as wide as a cave, and whose eyes blaze copper-red. The hungry serpent grasps Bhima, and because of a boon it received, the moment it touches him, Bhima loses his senses entirely.
