Lomasha pronounces the benediction, and Yudhishthira does everything he was told — reciting the verse and ascending the altar before it can submerge. Then he goes to Mahendra mountain and spends the night there, completing this segment of the pilgrimage.

Lomasha pronounced the benediction over Yudhishthira. Yudhishthira went into the ocean. He recited the verse Lomasha had given him — "Agni, Mitra, the womb, the water, the goddess, Vishnu's seed, the navel of amrita" — and ascended the altar before it could sink back beneath the waters. He did all that he had been asked to do. Then he went to Mahendra mountain — the peak associated with Indra, king of the gods — and spent the night there.
