Jarasandha's son, the prince Sahadeva, comes out of the city with his retinue to meet the conquerors. He bows to Krishna in fear and offers gems, seeking assurance.

The maharatha (great chariot-warrior) Sahadeva, Jarasandha’s son, came out of the city. He was accompanied by his relatives, his advisers, and his priest at the forefront. Sahadeva bowed down low before Vasudeva (Krishna), the god among men. He paid homage, presenting many gems. Krishna provided assurances to the frightened prince. Then and there, he instated Jarasandha’s son as the new king of Magadha. Having been allied with Krishna and having obtained homage from the two Parthas (Bhima and Arjuna), the intelligent King Sahadeva re-entered Brihadratha’s city, Girivraja, as its ruler. The lotus-eyed Krishna, resplendent with supreme radiance and now laden with many riches, then left with the two Parthas.
