The Pandavas Rest and Prepare to Enter the Sabha
After the formal greetings, the Pandavas retire to their quarters. They perform evening rituals, eat, sleep, and wake to morning rites. They then enter the beautiful sabha, now crowded with gamblers, for the appointment that will change everything.
After conversing with the women, the tigers among men went out. They performed physical exercises and the due rituals. When the daily rituals were over, they anointed themselves all over with divine sandalwood paste. With their minds purified, the brahmanas pronounced benedictions upon them.
They ate the best of food, then retired to their sleeping quarters. Women sang to them, and the descendants of the Kurus went to sleep. They spent the pleasant night in the pursuits of love. After resting, they rose to the sound of praises from bards. Having slept happily through the night, they performed all the morning rites.
Then, prepared, they entered the beautiful sabha. It was now crowded by rogues.
