After Vidura’s speech, the kings remain silent. Karna, seeing the unresolved question and Draupadi’s continued presence as an affront, gives a final order: remove the won slave to the servants’ quarters.

Vidura finished speaking. The parable of Prahlada hung in the air, its lesson clear: speak the truth or be damned. None of the assembled kings uttered a word in response. Karna watched the silence. He saw Draupadi, the ascetic lady, still there, trembling in her shame. The question was stalled, but her status, in his view, was settled. He turned to Duhshasana and gave a simple, brutal command. “Take Krishna away to the quarters meant for the servant girls.” Draupadi trembled. She was in shame. She complained to the Pandavas — her husbands, who sat powerless. Duhshasana obeyed. He dragged her through the middle of the sabha, completing her journey from queen to disputed property to declared slave. The immediate action of the hall was over. She was taken away.
